Intention of the day: In your mind [only], please choose the path of least resistance.
Morning writing: Again, as a confrontational person all of this is very challenging for me. I rarely back down from a 'fight' when someone close to me is treating me unfairly. (For instance, I ended things with the new guy last night because he ignored me during my birthday weekend. But I was polite and explained my feelings in a rational way and we ended things amicably.) So I don't expect myself to change completely and turn into a zen Jesus. HOWEVER, when it comes to the little things, dealing with strangers, and stuff like that... I feel this is an appropriate time to practice this lesson. Many times my morning commute would leave me angry or frustrated and it would set the tone for my day. Now I can let the rude indiscretions and late trains slide because it is not worth holding onto the negative energy. On top of that, I will try to use this mindset when dealing with the bigger issues of life. But I can't always choose to resist resistance. I think my body needs SOME resistance to keep the fire going.
Tarot Reading:
Regarding the short-lived 'relationship' -
What worked well: Queen of Pentacles (practical, homely, motherly, down-to-earth, security)
What didn't work well: Knight of Swords (opinionated, hasty, action-oriented, communicative)
Key learnings: Ten of Cups (harmony, marriage, happiness, alignment)
The idea of being with him appealed to my desire to have a stable relationship with a grown man with a real job and a house, all the things I would definitely want in a man. But my opinions and confrontational needs caused a rift (in my own mind) that turned me against him. If it wasn't his recent actions, it would have been something else - politics, relationships, who knows. I communicated - and he didn't, which was a major problem. The takeaway here is that I did what I did in order to seek happiness. I knew what wasn't working for me and addressed it instead of burying it and staying with the guy for the sake of 'security.' That's not me anymore and while my new path is challenging, it should ultimately take me to happiness.
